What I've Been Up To.

Ponyo is coming along. I'm pleased with her hair, not so much with her face. Oh well. I hope the Beast will like her.

Of course.. she's not quite done, despite appearances.

(Ravelry notes here.)

Cat girl is done. Yes, her thumbs are big. So is her nose. She isn't perfect, who is?

She is, however, possibly looking for a new home. She has found a home with the owner of my very favorite local yarn store! I'm nowhere near experienced enough to sell these lovelies on Etsy (yet?) so I was thinking.. would any one out there be interested in buying my "as I learn" dolls for the cost of supplies plus shipping? I would, of course, keep the complete failures to myself. Anyway. It's an idea. I may give it a go.

(Ravelry notes here.)

Totoro is still in blob-form. I'm really starting to wonder if it'll ever look right. I suppose it's a good thing the Beast's birthday isn't until the end of April!

And this..

was my photography helper this morning. Mostly he munched on "circle cheese" and made me laugh so hard most of my pictures came out blurry.

Suffice to say, we're all feeling better. I'm extremely thankful that our colds rarely last more than a few days. I'll be doubly glad once all these little noses finish drying up, though!

  3. You Ponyo is quite... Ponyo-ish and perfect (and your "despite appearances"/headless Ponyo photo made me laugh, too!) As for your Cat-girl doll, please do not sell yourself (or your cat-girl) short, madame. She is adorable and spunky with lots of charm and personality (I *love* her nose and her thumbs suit me just fine.) I hope no one takes you up on your supplies & shipping offer and you are forced to sell her for a proper price!

    1. Except that if no one takes me up on it, I'll likely make and give away dolls until I run out of supplies and I get yelled at for breaking the bank. :P

  4. Ponyo! So cute! You are such a talented mama! I have not yet ventured into Waldorf doll making... I think I will leave it to others to make. I have so many crafting projects on the go anyways, lol.

I will e-mail you later today about our swap. I finally got hold of some wood pegs :)

  5. Aahhhhh so much doll making in our corners of the world ;) I love your Ponyo, I need to learn to crochet better, your dolly witht he ears is so sweet, adn creative, where did that idea come from? I have not seen anything like that before! Of course I haven't seen anything like your "chore" gnomes either and I think those are the sweetest most creative thing ever!

Thanks for visiting my blog, your comments always rock and brighten my day ;)

    Blessings,
    Samantha (Woodland Woolens)
