Joining Ginny at Small Things again this week.
Reading The Orchid Affair by Lauren Willig. It's the last of the Pink Carnation books that are out. Another (Garden Intrigue) should be out next month, though! Yay! Knitting.. well, I'm not going to tell you what it is. That will be for a later post. You're welcome to guess, though!
These are the scrappy longies I finally finished! Woohoo! Well, minus the drawstring. But I'll get to that. Amazingly I had some yarn left over (hence my current project). These were made with some lovely hand dyed yarn I bought from The Sitting Tree a very long time ago. It was my first "real" yarn purchase, I believe. And it was sitting on my shelf making me feel guilty for not knowing what to do with it. Once I rearranged my yarns I noticed that I had a bunch of scrap balls of other oranges and some brown. What could be more perfect than scrappy longies? Especially since my little boys just keep getting taller! So here they are - unwearable until the drawstring is made, but already much loved by everyone.
I love your scrappy longies-reminds me of a tiger. And the book looks interesting :)
ReplyDeleteTiger longies! Cool! And how much more fun that they were made out of scrap yarn ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased I came to visit your space - via Ginny of course - as I have now become familiar with Lauren Willig's work. I have just ordered one; I am such a sucker for flower/garden themes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Stephanie
I do hope you enjoy the series. It's my "guilty pleasure" that I reread at least once a year. I still laugh out loud at certain parts - my husband mocks me ruthlessly for it. But truly, isn't that the mark of an excellent book? That it can delight me each and every time I read it? (:
DeleteHooray! The longies came out just great!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to thank you for introducing me to the Sitting Tree, it is so much fun to visit.
She (well, her husband, I think) also makes lovely soap. I've tried three different scents of hers and adore each one. I've also knit her fox hat pattern - it was super fun. (:
DeleteOh my are those longies sweet! I only learned to knit when my daughter was born 11 1/2 years ago. I so wish I could have knit faster back then...
ReplyDeleteLongies are why I learned to knit in the first place. I'd bought a pair for my middle son and they were *so* expensive.
Deleteit looks like a little hat to match the longies... i hadn't heard of that series, i will have to look them up, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe longies are fabulous, like little tiger pants. I was thinking a hat - wait and see!
ReplyDeletei would want those too, they are super adorable!
