Linking up with Ginny.
Knitting a unicorn (as mentioned in my previous post) and a sock. Amazingly, despite following this formula, my sock seems to be a bit big. Oh well. I had to frog the toe once already because I got the crochet cast on wrong. I made the mistake of just following the written instructions rather than looking for a video. It worked much better the second time.
Reading? Well, a bunch of books for the Elf's homeschooling. I'm still setting up the crusades and an intro to biology. Listing the books and websites would be.. tedious at best. I did recently finish Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. It was recommended to me by an awesome lady and I enjoyed it very much.
And now my monsters are demanding dinner. Whee!
Cute unicorn! Robin is my neighbor!
ReplyDeleteYour unicorn is looking a lot better than mine! I had to start all over today. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteHey, Maureen. I couldn't find an email address to respond to you. I hope you see this. (:
DeleteThe yarn I'm using is Lamb's Pride Bulky. I've used all kinds of yarns for Linda's patterns, though. My kids dont seem to have a preference.
If you need any help with your pattern you should check out Linda's Ravelry group (http://www.ravelry.com/groups/mamma4earth). We're always happy to help out there. Lots of friendly people. Or you can email me about the specifics and I'll help however I can.
Best luck!
That sock looks like it's going to be amazing Melissa and I love the purple shade for your unicorn:)Thanks for posting on the KAL.

I see a unicorn! Clever! Don't you hate ripping out, especially when you know it's necessary.
ReplyDeleteI've struggled a bit with the sewing up as it's different from how I'm used to sewing up knitting (on the right side). I'm off to have a look at Linda's group (don't know why it didn't occur that she'd have one on Rav, before!)
ReplyDeleteLinda just released a tutorial for the sewing and stuffing of her toys on Ravelry.
DeleteTo be totally honest with you.. I sew them up with right sides facing out. Turning small things right side out after sewing always ends in a mess for me.
I kind of muddled through and then tidied up on the right side as there were some 'ridges' - the little girl I made it for was absolutely thrilled and recently mentioned how much she loves it - even though I made it a while ago now.
DeleteI have a horse sat in my UFO bowl but need to get some wool stuffing.
I'm loving the purple unicorn. My favorite color! (I have that pattern, too. I should actually knit it & see how it turns out...) xo
